Ive got 3 computers on the same dsl connection. Quite simply one of them just does not have internet anymore, i have a connection status icon in the taskbar, it even blinks as if its recieving or sending data...but nothing. internet explorere, games, messenger programs, they all act as if there is no internet connection. I was not using any p2p or downloading anything of the such so i dont know how it could be malware....any help is greatly apreciated.

you using a wireless router i assume?

and this is not the main computer connected to the router?

did you open up the tools folder in IE and check things there?

maybe reset your web settings? check to see that your lan settings are set to automatically connect?

everything else run ok the computer?

assume you did a reboot and that accomplished nothing? If you have XP did you try a system restore?

dont know if i can solve your problems but if you post answers i am sure somebody can help

I don't see anything in your log, so it looks like a networking problem! Are you uisng a router for this connection?

go to start/run type ipconfig /all

and see what you are getting, are you getting an IP address, dhcp and gateway?

Also go to network connections in control panel and click the network icon, click you internet connection and click support and see what your getting in there!

i think you would be best posting this in the netoworking forum and tell them what you have posted in here and that it doesn't look like spyware viruses etc?

    * It will prompt you to update to the latest definitions, click Yes.
    * Once the definitions are installed, click Options on the left side.
    * Click the Sweep Options tab.
    * Under What to Sweep please put a check next to the following:
    o
    o Sweep Memory
    o Sweep Registry

    http://www.stevengould.org/software/cleanup/download.html

    * A window will open and choose SAVE, then DESKTOP as the destination.
    * On your Desktop, click on Cleanup40.exe icon.

    * Now copy these instructions to notepad and save them to your desktop. You

    http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

choose extended database for the scan!

Run ActiveScan online virus scan here

    http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm

When the scan is finished, anything that it cannot clean have it delete it.
Make a note of the file location of anything that cannot be deleted so you
    can delete it yourself.
    - Save the results from the scan!
