I have windows XP Pro and my kids already have there own logon name, I need a way that will only allow them on the internet for a set time. I have cable modem that is connected to my LAN. Is there one for free I can use I don’t need to do any thing else.

Welcome to TSG!

There are software applications out there that can set controls for computer use.
I took a trip over to www.tucows.com (try before you buy site)
(Windows, System & Utilities > User Management and then searched for XP compatible apps)

The first one I came up with ... 1st Security Center Pro 3.1
(http://www.tucows.com/system/preview/258636.html) ... allows for The "User Working Time" function allows you to limit working time for your children, colleagues or students. You can define several time intervals and durations.

A very well known protection applicaton is Net Nanny www.netnanny.com
They have a try-before-you-buy at http://www.netnanny.com/products/freetrials.html

The cost of these apps is minimal and they sure do provide a great level of comfort (for you) and security (for your wee ones)

I hope this helps
cheers
