I am travelling to Italy for an extended period and wish to buy a lap top in Australia before I go. My options for the place I am going appear to be "wireless" or most likely dial up. It is difficult to find info on internet capability over there. (Out of main towns in Sicily is where I will be). When I buy the laptop, are there any special features I should think of (ports etc etc) eg pcmcia slots. If this doesn't make sense it is because I am computer illiterate. Any other info on internet in remote parts of Sicily appreciated.

As far as I am aware pc's and laptops are global, that is why you have the option to change the language. I would email the Italian embassy for any known issues but I would be suprised if there are any.
BTW enjoy your trip to Italy never been myself but I would ove to go to Rome.
