    "Reset the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)

Go to Start->Run, type CMD and click Ok. The MSDOS window will be displayed. At the prompt type the following and press Enter after each line:

    netsh int ip reset C:\Resetlog.txt
    netsh winsock reset catalog
    Exit

    Restart the computer."

If i do this it works but then when i restart the laptop again.. i have to do it agian to make it work .. Please help thanx

Edit: Same thing with WinsockxpFix .. it will fix it but have to do it everytime the computer reboots...

more info: this problem began after unstalling norton and then installing and unstalling avg.. now windows firewall is on and no virus scan

This is NOT the same as WINSOCK fix! For XP-SP2, this is the ONLY correct way to reset the WINSOCK and TCP/IP stack.

I'm guessing something left over from your removal of Norton. Let's see this when you reboot.

Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt:

    Type the following command:

    IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

That's not all the output of the following command!

    IPCONFIG /ALL

If it is, you have a problem with the Network adapter.

    Start, Run, devmgmt.msc

    What appears under Network Adapters?

This appears to have a good wireless connection, is this an IPCONFIG when it's not working? If not, please post one when it's failing.

why does it says this in ipconfig/all?..

    "NetBIOS over TCP/IP. . . . . . . : Deaktivert (disabled)"
Also wondering if i should do this:

    Control Panel>Network Connections>Local Area Connection\Properties\General
tab\This connection uses the following items\Internet
    Protocol(TCP/IP)\Properties\General tab\Advanced button\WINS tab. WINS
addresses box is empty, Enable LMHOSTS lookup box is checked, NetBIOS setting
    - Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP is selected.

i havent tried rebooting to safe mode.. i will try that and let u know

That's not significant for the Internet connection, only for file/print sharing.
