I am getting the yellow-triangle warning on my internet icon in the system tray with the caption (upon click) "no internet access" even though my internet is working fine. I had this problem when I was running Win 7 and it still persists after my update to Win 10. Rebooting my modem and router sometimes clears the warning. Rebooting my PC does not clear the problem but sometimes a full SHUT DOWN and then restart will. Any ideas, please?

Thanks for your reply, bobs-here. Tried suggestions from your link and found the one using the regedit entry change worked. I get a new internet icon overlay when starting but it clears after logon. Hope things stay fixed.

Bob, in the future please do not post a link to a lengthy thread discussing multiple fixes, some that worked and some that didn't, for the users to have to sift through and try one by one. Some of them may not be feasible or relevant solutions. If you read through to the end, it's likely that the best solution was indeed the registry fix but we don't want to send users off to read pages and pages of posts at other sites. We should do the sifting and pick out what looks like the most viable solution to suggest along with some guidance on how to do it and work from there. :)
