Hi guys,

So around 4 weeks ago, I got a new router and internet. The internet is working great for everyone on every device except for my computer. For some reason, my internet is not consistent with its ping (and this is just on my computer, the internet works great with my iphone). It almost seems like for every 1 minute of good internet I have, I have 10 or so minutes where the internet just stinkss. I am posting this on one of those good minutes. The problem started after I, 1. Got a new graphics card, and 2. Changed my antivirus software from Avira to Malwarebytes. If you guys need any more info just ask :D.

Thanks!

Anyone have any ideas guys? I think it might have something to do with Avira but I am not sure.

Okay first lets see some test results......... Go onto the following website and do a speed test then post the results.

http://www.speedtest.net/

If your internet was fine before you changed your GPU and router I suggest temporarily disabling your antivirus and checking the speeds, if this is the issue do NOT leave it disabled, post back and we can figure something out.

http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4030365059 Here are my test results from when my internet was working well (Still lower than usual), usually when my internet is not working I cannot access any websites including speedtest.net. Here are my result after disabling my antivirus http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4030614467. I have researched this problem on other websites and a lot of people have said that AMD QuickStream may be whats causing the problem. Do NVIDIA graphics cards have anything similar to QuickStream. Also, I forgot to mention that my internet is wireless and also that my computer originally had an AMD integrated graphics card.

Malwarebytes isn't an antivirus program it's an antimalware program so you need to also have an antivirus program. Have you tried it connected to the router with a cable? The guaranteed speeds by your ISP are for a wired connection. Is this DSL or cable internet? And which OS are you using?
