    Hello,

I am making a career change back into IT ( was in IT before) and want to program in C++. I'm looking at MS training courses with a goal of getting certified. I could use some insight into the differences between .NET and the Visual Studio. The training threads are according to those two paths. I've been searching the net for a good comparison or explanation of either but can't seem to get my arms around it. Can anyone provide some insight into what's more appropriate for application programming?

    Thanks so much.

Visual Studio is the IDE you use to program in .NET. They're not two different things.

Thank You DH for the simple and straightforward answer.. I totally thought they were two different entities all together. That helps
