My system (XP Home) has almost ground to a standstill with online applications. Everything is grindingly slow to load today.

Norton Professional diagnoses a single problem: Invalid ActiveX/COM Entries, which it can't fix. Nor can I. Registry Cleaner and Registry Smartboth report no errors. Clearly there is an error and I have no idea what to do about it.

System Restore and Norton GoBack stubbornly refuse to go back beyond the current day. What to do? Somebody out there must know ... please.
