I bought a used Hewlet Packard running Windows 95 for my granddaughter. I formatted the hard drive, now no matter whether there is a disk in the drive or not, I get the same error message. "Invalid disk, replace disk and hit any key" Please help!

You reinstalled an operating system on it?

No, it won't let me install anything, or read any start up floppy I put in it. I get the same error message even if there is no disk in the slot. I don't understand, I have never had this happen before. Thank you for your response, Mary

How were you able to format the hard disk, if your floppy drive doesn't work? Did it fail after formatting?

Do you have a copy of Windows to install on this used computer?
