i purchased a usb zip drive by iomega and installed it; i'm running windows 95 and it DID warn me that only iomega products would now work in my usb ports....but i didn't know it would be forever! the zip drive didn't work right so i am returning it and have uninstalled the software, but now my device manager shows NO usb ports at all, and won't recognize the scanner. i un- and reinstalled the scanner software, but no go. i don't want to have to buy windows 98. can anyone bail me out of this one?

thanks--i did that, but it still wouldn't recognize it. i printed out the system device info and it says this:
Device drivers:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\IOSUBSYS\iomusb.MPD
and the manufacturer is Iomega Corp., file version: 1,2,0,0 so i guess it's still controlling the usb port. how do i purge this thing?
thanks,
melias

1) Uninstall USB support - should be listed in Add/Remove Programs.

2) Rename that file to something else (don't delete it, in case Windows gets messed up - you can always just change the name back)

3) Reinstall USB support.
