ip addresses

    I have a buddy that has a ftp machine set up with a router and all that stuff he wants me to tell him what the ip address of his machine is and the ip addy of the router. we are using a program called putty to let me have accesss to his box . This is his way of teaching me about linux and i am failing miserably mayday---mayday--- ---...--- please advise

    Try to connect to his server and open a terminal and type:
    netstat -rn
    Look at the ppp connections.I think that will do it.
