    Hey all,

I have someone who is gonna let me try to replace their iPad 3G LCD. huh huh, *NERD SNORT*

    It was dropped.

Im pretty savvy when it comes to electronics. I have replaced the screens in laptops dozens of times.

What I need is a decent reliable place to buy the part. I can find tons of teardown guides to read up on.

Does anyone know a trustworthy place to buy an official part? Other than apple?

Apple product parts aren't interchangeable commodities. At best you could buy a non-working iPad with a perfect screen. You realize these things can't be pried apart with a screwdriver, right? They're designed to be repaired by Apple.

Hmm trying not to be offended by this part: "You realize these things can't be pried apart with a screwdriver, right?"

I do realize that they make SPECIAL tools to repair these, theres a zillion stores that advertise they will fix them, and iphones, not to mention COUNTLESS online guides to help. So obviously theres an aftermarket out there.

Thats like saying, only Ford can fix a Mustang.....
