Hi all... yesterday I finally "fell" for an old Trojan trick and clicked on an email in my inbox that "appeared" to come from a well known greetings card company. i.e. one of those "You have a friend who has sent you a card" type thing.

However, as soon as I realized that there was no greeting card associated with the file number sent to me, I knew I had been duped

My Symantec anti-virus protection alerted me and told me that it had "removed the Trojan" and that "the risk was now zero. However, I am not so sure I believe it.

I noticed that there was (and still is) an icon on my desk with the file name of "postcard.exe". I have tried to delete it but keep getting told that "it can't be removed because it is being used by another person or program".

When I click on "properties" it tells me that it is a "Macromedia Flash 6.0 file"... so I am damned if I can figure out how to get rid of it - I just know I need to.

I have attached an HJT file for anyone kind enough to look at it and suggest a fix.

I wanted to add an MSWord doc showing two screen captures relating to the details of the IRC Trojan as told my anti-virus software, but this upload facility doesn't accept .doc files

Thanks again,

Smeatz

:)
