    I am running windows 2000 and currently have Nortons. It is picking up a virus called IRC-Worm.Zcrew.A but is unable to delete it as access is denied. When I go to the Symantec web site to attempt the manual removal I can't find the files it asks me to delete.

    I have tried Trend housecall and it was also unable to delete it. Additionally when I ran another online virus check it picks up the following virus that Nortons isn't picking up

    C:\WINNT\system32\STDE9.exe=>(RAR Sfx)=>v32driver.bat infected: Backdoor.GTSE.1.0 (BAT)
    C:\WINNT\system32\STDE9.exe=>(RAR Sfx)=>web.swf infected: Backdoor.GTSE.1.0 (mIRC)
    C:\WINNT\system32\STDE9.exe=>(RAR Sfx)=>explore.EXE=>(Upx) infected: [email protected]
    C:\WINNT\system32\STDE9.exe=>(RAR Sfx)=>explorer.exe infected: Backdoor.GTSE.1.0
    C:\WINNT\system32\STDE9.exe=>(RAR Sfx)=>rcfg.ini infected: IRC-Worm.Zcrew.A
    C:\WINNT\system32\STDE9.exe=>(RAR Sfx)=>svchost32.exe=>(Upx) infected: Trojan.HideWindows.A
    C:\WINNT\system32\STDE9.exe=>(RAR Sfx)=>iiscache.dll infected: Backdoor.GTSE.1.0 (mIRC)

    In Hijack This, check ALL of the following items. Doublecheck so as to be sure not to miss a single one.
    Next, close all browser Windows, and have HT fix all checked.

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {4CEBBC6B-5CEE-4644-80CF-38980BAE93F6} - c:\winnt\iexplorr23.dll
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {6B12DABB-0B7C-44FA-B0B3-4BAFF3790256} - c:\winnt\iexplorr24.dll

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [tourpath] regedit /s c:\winnt\tour.reg
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Tray Temperature] C:\Program Files\InternetWasherPro\minibug.exe 1
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [explore] C:\winnt\web\printers\images\explore.exe

    O4 - Global Startup: Register Kazaa Upgrade Suite3.exe

    Now restart your computer, and delete:

    The C:\Winnt\Tour.Reg File
    The C:\Program Files\InternetWasherPro folder
    The C:\winnt\web\printers\images\explore.exe file
    The C:\WINNT\system32\STDE9.exe file

    Finally, download Spybot - Search & Destroy

    After installing, first press Online, and search for, put a check mark at, and install all updates.

    Next, close all Internet Explorer windows, hit 'Check for Problems', and have SpyBot remove/fix all it finds.
