iRiver Music Manager Connection failed.

I have been using an iRiver IFP 895 MP3 player in conjunction with iRiver Music Manager on my Vista computer for well over a year, trouble free, and with excellent results. However, when I opened Music Manager this morning, It registered "Disconnected". I have checked all my connections and all are OK. I have tried in vain to load a new driver. I have tried through Vista, through iRiver web-site, and through control panel, without success. I keep getting asked to connect to the internet when I already am. When I click OK, I just get asked again. Would it be anything to do with Vista updates being loaded in the background? Can anyone help me to restore my excellent iRiver Music Manager to what it was? Allan.
