Is Abit good quality?

    I'm finding an awful lot of complaints about tigerdirect combo deals, people are having a hard time getting the cpu to be recognized requireing a bios flash, not getting their rebates from TD, that type of thing. Cont find anything on a AMD XP2900+ that doesnt have to do with TD, is that a real model???

    No such animal exists according to AMD, goes XP2800+ to XP3000+

    Tiger is not on my top-ten list of reliable places to buy, you have to be pretty careful about what you get there.

    I have found out a bit about the XP2900+. It appears to be a modified 2800+ that have been licensed to specific OEM's. There can be alot of trouble getting them to work in any MoBo except that of the OEM (they are specialy configured to recognize the 2900+).

    Some have found they work great with no problems while others go through hell to get them to even work.

    The MoBo brand that was giving this info was ChainTech so I don't know how they work with Abit.

    Thanks for you input. It appears to be a big risk to buy this bundle. As for TigerDirect's reputation, I have bought my monitor, Mobo, CPU, DDR Ram, and Video Card from them without problems, although I am still waiting to see if I will get my rebate back.
