Over the past few months I have noticed a slow down on my system. I used this site once before and resolved the issue quickly. I regularly "clean" my computer and keep programs up to date. I use EZ Antivirus and Firewall provided by my internet service provider RR. I was looking through my task manger processes and noticed some odd processes. After looking some of them up on the internet, it appeared that I might have a few issues. iexplore.ext was the first one to cause me concern. CPU jumps aroud and Mem Usage averages 30,000k.

    Are you refering to this

    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

    Totally legit

    Log looks fine

Get all of these and/or verify you have the current versions

    SpywareBlaster 3.5.1 http://majorgeeks.com/download2859.html
    SpyBot V1.4 http://www.majorgeeks.com/download2471.html
    AdAware SE 1.06 http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html
MS Windows Defender - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...E7-DA2B-4A6A-AFA4-F7F14E605A0D&displaylang=en (XP and W2K only)

DownLoad them (they are free), install them, check each for their
    definition updates
and then run AdAware, MS Defender (W2k/XP) and Spybot, fixing anything they say.

In SpywareBlaster - Always enable all protection after updates
In SpyBot - After an update run immunize

Check for updates and run weekly

Thanks, I have and run the top3 weekly, but didn't have newest version of spybot, and only imunized once in the past. Not sure about the MS Windows Defender, but I will download this today. I'm running new version of spybot now (ran old version earlier and noththing was detected). New version has identified quite a few problems.

In addition to these programs I also run diskcleanup, error-checking, and defrag. Is there an order in which all of these should be run and a frequency? And is there others that should be run?

    Thanks for you help.....latwiggy
