Is it a 802.11 interface listening also to not connected devices?

Hello,

I would like to know if a Wi-fi interface, 802.11, when for example is connected to a router is listening also to the messages coming from others routers and equipments. Is it listening to every coming messages and then discard it? is the collision mechanism then affected also by equipments not included in the WLAN?

Yes; it has to look at the header to see if the message is meant for it.

Not sure just what you mean by the question. If you are asking whether wireless interference (signals on the same or close channel) can look like valid messages and thus cause a real message to look like a collision I think that the answer is 'yes.'
