When sygate firewall tells you your pc is being scanned, is it possible to find out who is scanning it? and also what can you do with this information?
    Thanks

If you open the security log of Sygate and rightclick on the scan report you can choose backtrace which gives you the ip adress and the location of where the scan came from.

What you do with it ? i don't know, be creative ;-)

There should be a log, which will tell you which IP address performed the scan. Once you know the IP address, you can then use Whois to find more detail.

However there is a caveat, any cracker worth his salt will be hiding his IP address using a proxy

The vast majority will simply be your ISP trying to find out if you are still on line
