I have window XP Home Edition. I did a windows search for files ending in .old and .tmp and I found a whole bunch of them on my PC. I was wondering if it was safe to delete these files. Also, are there other file tipes that I can safely delete without my PC falling apart? Thanks for any help anyone can give me on this.

Generally, you wouldn't want to delete files based on their file type. No matter what the file type is, it could be being used by something. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options and "Delete Cookies" and "Delete Files". Those are always safe to delete. That should clear up some HD
