    I leave my notebook at night to download big files. Is doing so safe, and won`t it hurt overall to PC itself if I keep it unplugged?
    I use Norton Systemworks.
    Thanx

    Hi tokyo

    I recommend a very good firewall such as Zone Alarm or Tiny Personel Firewall

    Zone Alarm-> http://www.zonealarm.com

    What I meant above concerns not only virus, outside attacks, but also things like overheating of PC, disfunctioning of hardware,etc. I use mostly Morpheus.

    Thank you for understanding

    well overheating is likely if you don't have good ventilation... make sure .......the vents are dirt/dustfree.... & heat source in your home is turned off if close to the computer.

    Morpheus has been known to have virus in the downloads so scan them before you play them.I use it as well.

    Zone Alarm will protect you from outside attacks... or Tiny...

    I also recommend downloading Ad-Aware & running it nightly for spyware. You may get it here
