My boss sometimes seems to know what I have talked about to my friends in my home. I do not see my boss even weekly, and have no personal contact. Yet he sometimes brings up topics that I discussed with my friend the night before, in my home. I know the boss has text tracker on my work cell phone because he accidentally forwarded a text I received from a co-worker to me instead of my supervisor. I pretended not to notice. I do not care if he is snooping on my work laptop files or web use, but I am very concerned that he is somehow accessing a microphone feature on the laptop or work cell phone. He provided and pays for both, but I do NOT want my home bugged or have my private conversations recorded or listened in on.

This is not something that we would get involved with here. We don't know the circumstances of any usage agreements and it's something you will have to work out with them. Otherwise, turn off the microphone and laptop when not using them for business and get a separate device for personal use.

Thanks, I do have separate devices and never use my boss's equipment for my personal use. I am concerned that he remotely (illegally) accesses the microphone to listen to my private, after hours conversations.

Can you please direct me to the type of professional who could inspect my laptop (and cell) to see if the microphone function has been accessed, as I have never used it? I do not even know where to begin, but it is not with my boss. He could then disengage the remote access and I would have no proof.

I really don't know and unfortunately I have to close this thread for reasons already stated.

If you suspect something is going on that is illegal then all we can suggest is that you contact the authorities for assistance.
