is my gpu getting to hot?

ok well i have a geforce 8800gts 320mb, heres a video of the card (not my video)

anyways it idles at 78-82c and when gaming is 90-120c depending on game

im concerned that maybe thats to hot but my computer has been running strong 4 years nothing changed i just recently started looking at temps and got paranoid

basicly im asking do i have anything to be worried about

That is very hot. Have you checked the temps in more than one way? The programs that read sensors are notoriously unreliable.

(Sorry. I'm not going to watch a 3-minute 29-second video. I have other things to do.)

no just using a program called speedfan

also the video is just to show the card its huge takes up 2 slots

if your computer gets to hot wont it shut down on its own? thats never happend btw and ive only blue screened one time in months

Simple answer, yes, way too hot. Infact I would say it is probably around twice the temp I would expect.

You need to check all your internal fans, makes sure all your heatsinks are clean and free from dust.
What case fans do you have, front, rear, side etc. and which way do they blow (in or out of the case).
What is the exact make and model of the PC?
Is the 8800gs the card that came with it or have you upgraded?
What is the exact make and model of the power supply?

Check your temperatures and voltages in the BIOS, let us know what it says there. It should give you the temps for the same components and ideally the voltage outputs from your PSU (+12v, +5v etc).

i put a mini fan behind my computer aimed at graphics card and it idles under 70 now

id say problem solved

How much under 70 does it idle, I would expect an 8800GTS to idle well under 60, infact probably under 50 to be honest. I used to have an 880GT and that only idled at around 45-50.
