I hope I can get some advise. We just upgraded from an unlimited data Air Card from Verizon for our laptop at home, to a 5GB limited Mobile Hotspot (the new 4G). Our usual usage from the unlimited ran about 2GB a month so I figured we would have no issues with the new plan. We have had the new device for 9 days and have already accumulated 3GB in those 9 days. And since we upgraded in the middle of our pay cycle, the new plan included our previous usage of 2GB so now we are already over our limit. I checked the data usage chart in my account and there are times on there that I know for a fact that we were not on the computer. The WiFi is password protected. I spoke with a Tech Rep from Verizon who said that its probably not the WiFi where someone is accessing but rather the computer itself? I was told to check the Internet Connection Sharing to make sure it is turned off, but im not sure how to do it. This one laptop is the only device in our home that is using the Wifi. How do I stop all this extra data usage and the whoever from hacking my computer... kinda scary to know what that person can get into.
thanks.

I highly doubt your computer has been hacked. Can you log into the hotspot and see what IP addresses have been assigned?

oops, sorry, misread the question. I don't know how to get into the hotspot to check IP.
