Is this a virus or what?

    Crikey!!! :eek: Any idea how you got it or where it came from. The only thing I can think of is to boot from a boot disk but I doubt if that will work. You could try and reset bios to defaults either with the cmos clear jumper on the mobo or take the battery out for a few minutes. Good Luck :)

    Can't be a virus as the PC is still in POST, and has not even begun to load any operating system.

    Looks more like a screwed up BIOS to me. Or dodgy RAM.

    When you say it does nothing, do you mean it stops dead and does not finish the POST?

    Try resetting the BIOS first. Then reseating the RAM.
