Before I buy a video card I want to make sure it is compatible and will work.

I would like to buy a Sapphire 9600pro 256 MB, 128bit, AGP, 4x/8x video card

I have a AMD Athlon XP 2500+, AMD 1832Mhz
The motherboard book says under the section AGP slot:
introduces a 66Mhz, 32-bit channel for the graphics controller to directly access main memory. The mainboard supports 4x/8x 1.5V AGP card

Is the card I am looking at two new and advanced for my motherboard or will it still work to its full potential. Is there another card I should get instead. If this card will not work or has alot of extras I am paying for that will not work what would you recommend instead?

Remember I am a computer beginner, but it says:

MSI (Micro Star International)
VIA KM400 Chipset Based
KM4M Series Micro ATX Mainboard
MSI Mainboard Designed for AMD Athlon XP/Athlon/Duron Processor

So, is this still the best card to get even though it will only run in the 4x mode? (don't even know the difference between 4x and 8x and what they do)

Is there something else that would work better? computer is used for games, but not a serious gamer.

Be sure to go to ATI site and download and install the latest drivers for the card.
