A vendor who builds large numbers of PCs told me the other day that he does not like supplying PCs with SIS chipsets to gaming people because he gets abnormal support requests compared with Intel chipsets

    Can anyone support this comment?

Some SIS Chipsets (under Socket 478 - just scroll down)

    Intel Chipsets :

Rather than take the word of a dealer I would recommend you use Google and do some background reading - particularly if you're thinking of making a purchase.

There could be many factors to account for his view - maybe he was constantly dealing with older chipsets from one range / and a broader cross section from the other. Perhaps many of his customers don't maintain their pc as well as they should - don't clean inside allowing dust build up, maybe many of them use junk fans to 'save' money ....

If I were you take a look at the above links - then pick a couple at random and use -

http://www.google.com And run searches for benchmarks / reviews on those models.

    Also this site :

Widely recommended if you have not seen it take a look as they have detailed benchmarks on almost every item of pc hardware going back to '96.
