After downloading iTunes 7.3, I keep getting the following error message:

    DLL C:\Windows\system32\DCIMAN32.dll

is not a valid image. Please check this against your installation diskette.

What happens is iTunes opens, but without the skin, so I can see text but there's no white background rendering it unusable. I tried every troubleshooting tool I use (e.g. registry cleaner) but nothing works. I can't use iTunes , which is a massive problem if you have an iPod!

    Any help would be massive...Thanks!

Try scanning your computer for Spyware...usually spyware have the tendency to mix up the DLL files.

I've tried that too and still am getting the error. Thanks though.

After I downloaded the the most recent update of iTunes last week, I giot the same "not a valid image" error and it is seriously screwing up the graphical performance of my Windows XP computer. Did you ever find a fix?

Open a command prompt and type SFC /SCANNOW to scan for corrupt files.

Alternatively, insert XP CD, change to i386 folder and type:
    EXPAND DCIMA32.DL_ c:\windows\system32\dciman32.dll

A friend downloaded a new windows dll 32 file. Ip opened the existing one in Windows and found it empty and substituted the new one and it fixed it.
