Working on friends dell with XP SP3 on it, and he said Itunes interrupted asking to merge accounts, (though he thought he only had one Account), while he was purchasing xmas music adding it to his vast library. and thinks he said "no" and it over wrote his previous 5GBs of music, with his lonely 2 new Xmas albums.. I checked music folder and recycle bin.. NOTHIN.. he is in a panic, and I really am stuck.. does Itunes have a data base yet where we can redownload them? THEY SHOULD MAN.. alot of money.. ;(
    THANKS IN ADVANCE

All you can maybe try is recuva which might be able to recover what got deleted. This is why we always advise backups to be made of things you dont want to lose like pictures, music, etc, onto a cd/dvd so it wont be lost forever.I used to have itunes years ago when i had an ipod but wasnt crazy about using it.
