I have been ploughing through numerous sites attempting to resolve my itunes issue, but to no avail. I'm using windows vista and since updating itunes and IE approx 6 weeks ago I have been unable to access itunes.

I have reinstalled more times than I can remember and followed all of the usual instructions regarding complete removal of itunes, quicktime, bonjour etc.

Quicktime error message reads as follows:
"C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft.vc80.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.4053_none_d08d7da0442a985d\MSVCP80.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program agin using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support."

Upon reinstalling itunes the error message reads "ituneshelper was not installed correctly. please reinstall itunes. error 7", a second box then appears when I double click the icon saying exactly the same thing for itunes not being installed correctly and the dll message above.

If anyone can help it would be hugely appreciated as i have hit a brick wall.
I have tried a clean start up so that no other programs could interfere with launch and now I have noticed that towards the end of a new install a message comes up saying that windows installer

The apple support website says to download Quicktime first and install it. Then install iTunes second. This does solve quite a few issues. Your sounds pretty messed up though. Do other programs have issues as well? Also have you tried launching iTunes in Safemode? It likely won't work but it's a worthwhile troubleshooting step.
