My old PC died. Thankfully I had all my iTunes music on my external. The question is, how do I get transfer my iTunes music from external so it appears in my list of music on new PC? I've tried various suggestions I found on line and none have worked. Thanks.

You didn't say what Windows version you're using in your new computer.

You're fortunate that you had all your music files backed up in an external USB hard drive before your old computer died.
Many people fail to back up their personal data, and then they lose it when their computer dies.

I don't use an external USB hard drive, so I back up my personal data to CD-R's and DVD-R's.
I then use that external media to copy it to the related folders(Documents, Music, Pictures, Videos) in Windows Explorer when copying it to a different computer.
You should be able to do the same with an external USB hard drive.
