I've got problems

    Recently I have been having program not responding pop up / I also have had times when I shut down my computer it doesn't , the fan will still be running have to reboot/ start up ,shut down takes a long time and surfing seems slow / my cpu light flashes a lot when nothing is running and it just seems to be working hard (hows that for a technical term/ it has intermittently not responded to my back button and today it froze up while playing windows media player so I couldn't shut it down I had to reboot/ I had trouble running my Mcafee virus scan / I have since then scanned for virus ok / run spysweeper ok /AVG /deleted my cookies and online files / I have included a hijack this log or those who may be able to help thanks

    Did you already try a system restore?

    Mother bboards have power management settings in the bios. Have you checked that?
