Can you ZIP and post the files here?

not sure what you mean.....create a zip file?? don't think my old Windows software
has that capacity..***ADDED RESPONSE TO YOURS--- I DON'T HAVE A
ZIP DRIVE, if that was what you were referencing...

HOWEVER...I just read an old Excel inquiry at this web site &
found one that listed a "can't open Excel file" problem...the answer there gave me an
idea to attempt to open in "read only" & then copy it and then paste it into a NEW
    FILE w/new description...IT WORKED! ( I THINK!! haven't closed Excel & tried to
re-open again yet!! .....will try in a sec...
....in interim....do you have any idea why/what caused this in the first place?? So
strange that only 2 files were affected by whatever!!...THANKS AGAIN.
*************re above... I accessed the Excel file I wanted from "all files" in Word, THEN opened in "read only", THEN copied & pasted into new EXCEL file....THAT's what worked for 1 file.......HOWEVER......
SAME PROCESS did NOT work for the other file...with it, a box came up
re "convert from" with various choices, none of which worked, including
"recover text from any file". ANY SUGGESTIONS?
    *******THANKS AGAIN. ***

NOTE: when closed Excel & re-opened, had no problem opening the now
newly titled file which I copied from "read only" in Word.
