I get two Program Errors when I start my computer.
They are the Java.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program.
An Error log is being created.
Where is the error log? How can I correct this error everytime I start my computer. This is W2k SP4.
I went to Java and downloaded two different java packs and tried installing them but it didn't help. How can I fix this. nothing in the event viewer seems realted.

Try these steps and see if it helps:

If you can get on the net with the computer, go to this site and run a virus scan:

http://www.kaspersky.com/beta?product=161744315 - just fill in the info with the astericks...

If that won't load because of the java problem, try this one:

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp

If none of those will work, try and updating and running your Nortons, if Nortons won't run, see if you can uninstall Nortons for now and download another antivirus program like AVG Free or the trial of NOD32 from here:

http://free.grisoft.com/doc/Get+AVG+FREE/lng/us/tpl/v5 --- AVG FREE
http://www.nod32.com/download/trial.htm ---- NOD32 trial

After scanning your system for viruses, do a scan with antispyware programs like Adaware SE and Spybot Search and Destroy or MS Antispyware.

http://www.download.com/3000-2144-10045910.html?part=69274&subj=dlpage&tag=button --- Adaware SE

http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10401314.html?tag=lst-0-1 --- Spybot Search and Destroy

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...a8bd-dbf62eda9671&displaylang=en&Hash=QB7VTRD --- MS Antispyware Beta

After you run a Antivirus scan and a Antispyware scan, go to this site and download the "msconfig" file, get the WIndows XP version:

http://www.perfectdrivers.com/howto/msconfig.html

Download the file to your desktop and then double click on it ot run it. When the next screen pops up, look in the "Startup" portion/tab and uncheck anything that has "java" in the command line. Then click on "apply" and "ok" Then system will then reboot, see if the Java error has stopped.

Hope this helps!
