Hello everyone! i am very new to coding and very young i know a little bit of python but want to expand to a language with a bigger "community" like java. My dad is a hobby programmer and has tons of books on java. Sounds great right? well no, my problems are that the books are old, they don't make scene to me, and learning all of this is very boring to me. So that's a long way to ask how do i learn java from tutorials that don't make scene and not fall asleep. I am sorry if this is hard to read or is very disorganized i'm only twelve.

Welcome to TSG. Current version of Java is 7.4.

Complete Java guide is available on oracle.

I recommend these books for Java

    1. Head First Java (version 6 is there)
    2. Big Java

One special note. If you are referring oracle, and about to learn IO, make sure to learn java.io first instead of javax.nio. You will understand what I said when you are experiencing it :)
