Recently a jobs fair was held at a small rented hall near where I live. That evening a local news station ran a story that boggles the imagination.

Apparently, this hall was rented and staffed by a group of nefarious types whose sole purpose was Identity theft. The fake jobs fair ran throughout the day with no one the wiser.

I'm not sure how they got found out or if any of them have been arrested yet.

All of this reminds me that when you think you have finally reached bottom you discover your only standing on another trap door...............

Job fair turns out to be massive ID theft scam

For Aisha Shahid and dozens of others who went to an advertised job fair in Chattanooga and got offers of nightclub work in Atlanta, Memphis and Miami, the "dream jobs" turned out to be an identity theft scam.

Shahid said she is unemployed and went to a downtown hotel where she was offered what was described to her as a $1600 a week job at a celebrity nightclub about to open in Atlanta.

A man who identified himself as record company and music group president William Devon took applications and personal identification numbers from more than 100 people January 13th and 14th.

The man took many of the applicants' drivers licenses, birth certificates, Social Security cards and even a diploma.
