    Hello everyone! I bought a new dvd burner for my computer and was wondering where the best place to download full unreleased movies, newly released, etc. (either paying or free). I have tried Filetopia and Morpheus and were not all that impressed with either, so I thought I would check around for suggestions on this. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely,
    Ashley

    I don't know any sites that you can pay for it, but for free, that's a no-no. (Illegal). Any P2P program ie Morpheous is classed as illegal (since you are asking about downloading movies for free) so you're on your own with that one

    <IMHO>

    On T4Y's post: I don't think P2P is necessarily illegal. Sony v Betamax set the precedent that (I'm quoting roughly) "A device that has both legal and illegal implications is not itself illegal; only the use of said device for illegal ends is illegal". P2P does have legal uses; some bands like Wilco publish their music on the web for free advertising. Also, it allows for easy file transfer along a network, whether those files be accounting reports or slideshows or pictures of your sister's kids.

    >> Ash, you might as well just go buy dvd's. Websites that charge you money to download any kind of mainstream movie are shady anyway, and you're better off not giving them your credit card number.
