    Hi everyone

On an ongoing attempt to disinfect my computer and keep it clean from now on, I have found this site

    http://www.karenware.com/

at which there is a lot of cool freeware. I am wondering about a particular program called Window Watcher.

Kare has obviously done a lot of work to provide these apps to all of us, so I didn't want to bug her about this right off that bat.

Window Watcher shows a lot of hidden windows on my desktop. Is there any central source of info about what all these windows are and if I can/should take steps to close any of them or end the processes and/or delete the programs to which they are related? Google and site searches came up empty.

    Thanks, Nik

You should be very careful. I DL the pgm and its is a powerful tool, but will get you in deep trouble if you don't know what you are doing.

Just like HiJack This it is better to let the pros lead you. HJT will in essence give an equivalent exam of your sys and then if you think you are having problems you can post the log.

I would recommend that you at a minimum have AdAware/Spybot S&D/Spyware Blaster a good AV and a firewall

    Hi MFDnSC

Thanks for the warning - I guess I won't be trying to get rid of all these windows myself.

I have installed all the components you mentioned recently, after a bad battle with N-Case and other pests.

I didn't know that HJT gives a roughly equivalent log. The pros here have helped me with my HJT logs and my computer is back to functioning normally (it seems) so maybe I will wait until something goes wrong.

Thanks a lot for responding, Nick
