While downloading files using KaZaA Lite 2.4.2 or the new 2.4.3 ,when the download reaches 16,384 kb, it disconnects then says, "More Sources Needed." These files can almost never be resumed.

Why the 16,384 kb????? It's ALWAYS this number.

This is very common daily occurrencre, but not with all files.
These are mainly AUDIO files between 10,000Kb and 20,000KB.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled and have NO viruses.
    Running WinXP with a 256K ADSL .

    Thanks

This exact question seems to have been opened in 3 threads now. Here's the other 2:

    http://forums.techguy.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=167838

    http://forums.techguy.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=166940

In future it would be better if you could try and keep one query to one thread so that people aren't continually trying to help you out on something that others have already spent their time on.

If people don't seem to be able to figure it for you then simply 'bump' your thread back to the top instead of opening another.

You seem to be talking about downloading MP3s. Maybe you are trying to download bogus files, tricked by the RIAA. Maybe lures? And besides, I don't remember seeing such big music files?!?

I've seen plenty of mixes by dj's that have one 'track' to a whole CD, so this isn't a surprise.
The only thing that I can suggest that you do is get rid of Kazaa/Kazaalite altogether, and look for a better Peer2Peer prog.
If it's music you're looking to download then Soulseek is a good bet.

These are radio show MP3 recordings, not music files.
They run between 16,000 and 50,000 KB.
Some stop at 16,384 and never resume.
    The number baffles me.

Maybe you have busted the allowed bandwith of your internet connection for the month. Just a wild guess here.

What did I just write? That was pretty stupid. Forget about it.

I have no idea. Why the 16384 kb? This is really puzzling.

    Well, 16384Kb is exactly 16Mb.
Apparently, other people are having d/l problems with files stopping at multiples of 8Mb (8192Kb, 16384Kb, 49152Kb etc).

Perhaps this is something to do with cache limits or something??

Anyway, the only advice I could find was to try searching for the (exact) same file again, which may (alegedly) spur the original download to continue...

Any advice on Cache Limits and how to change this?
Is it a configuration problem or what?

    Hi,
I know you had this problem a long time ago, but I just got the same one. Downloads get to 16384 and stop. Dead.
Did you ever find out what was causing it to happen? Or a way to stop it from happening?:)

    Sorry Guchi Jnr but welcome

We no longer support or give help with Kazaa or any other p2p apps other than to help remove them
