Whenever I go online in a public hotspot Vista initially recognizes the wireless connection and permits access. However, when I attempt to stay online for any time the system displays a “local only” connection and does not permit me to navigate between sites. I suspect that this is a security setting issue; however, even setting my security level to the lowest possible selection does not resolve the issue. I have even switched the id setting from public to private in an attempt to override this issue, but even this does not work. This is a very big problem for me since I travel for my work and must be able to wirelessly connect from places other than home office. Please, if anyone knows what is causing this problem or has some other insights, I’d appreciate the help. Thanks!
