For some reason anything that I try to download or sometimes even run won't work. It comes up with this error message:

The procedure entry point EncodePointer could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll

Worried I may have built my computer wrong? (Building up my computer from bits and bobs :D )

Using Windows XP

Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks :)

that generally means that you are using XP sp1 or XP gold & need to update to SP2 then SP3 to cure it
