Oh my god. Look at Process information of kernel32.exe If you think that is weird keep reading. It says it is part of Windows, does that mean every windows machine is a living virus? Is there a way to break kernel32.exe away from windows? Or keep it there? This is quite weird to me, I would never expect a required dll to be a virus. But, you never know...and anyway what is a a kernel? Why are they important anyway?

Many Virii try to mimic a valid file - that can be valid and can be a virus

Why do you ask

Note the difference:

kernel32.exe

kernel32.dll

kernel32.dll is a part of Windows, kernel32.exe is not.

Kitch is right, the exe is bad, the dll is OK - I looked at Google too quickly

SpywareBlaster 3.4 http://majorgeeks.com/download2859.html
SpyBot V1.4 http://www.majorgeeks.com/download2471.html
AdAware SE 1.06 http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html
MS AntiSpy - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...A8BD-DBF62EDA9671&displaylang=en&Hash=RDXMHB6 (XP and W2K only)

DL them (they are free), install them, check each for their
definition updates
and then run AdAware and Spybot, fixing anything
they say.

In SpywareBlaster - Always enable all protection after updates
In SpyBot - After an update run immunize

Do these and reboot before the next step.

Then get HiJack This V1.99.1 http://thespykiller.co.uk/files/hijackthis_sfx.exe - double click the DL file and click unzip letting it extract to its default folder C:\Program FIles\HiJackThis, run it from there, DO NOT fix anything, post the log here.
