I have a major Windows problem, I really hope for some serious help here...

I downloaded the windows 2000 pack 4 update and after I restarted all I get is the blue screen with the memory dump procedure of the
    UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP
I entered by safe mode and uninstalled it. Everything is back tonormal now Adobe Illustrator doesn't work at all now. It opens and takes like 8 minutes to do so and eacg command takes about 5 minutes to respond. It's a vector program.
I tried reinstalling it, but with no luck.
Anyone has any clue what I can do.

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO FIX IT

Thanks I really appreciate any help here.
