    here's the problem:

i was typing a LOT of stuff into a form field on a web site and then hit a button which changed the page, erasing all the writing that I had inputed into the field. is there any way to recover what was lost, by maybe using a key logger or something?

    any ideas would be helpful...

The only way a key logger would work, is if you were running it before hand, even then, it would probably take longer to sort through all the data than it would to retype everything.

As far as recovering what you typed, I am afraid that it is gone (unless you have been running a key logger, then it might be available). Usually when you do forms, until you click submit, the info is just temporarily stored on the screen. It has not been written to your browser cache or to your hard drive. It is store electronically, and once it is flushed, it is gone.
