Got a keyboard malfunction on my laptop a couple of days out from my major medical exams! :eek:

For example...

v comes out as vm
f --> fx
q--> 4q
e --> ye
r --> r5

etc..

Have reinstalled windows, reinstalled keyboard drivers....have a feeling it may be a virus.

Sressing major, hope someone can help! Many Thanks! :)

I would bet its a hardware issue but,,,,,,,,,,,,

You have no active AntiVirus!

Get the free AVG AntiVirus 7.5 install it, check for updates and run a full scan

AVG 7.5 - http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/
====================

Download Superantispyware (SAS) free home version

http://www.superantispyware.com/superantispywarefreevspro.html

Install it and double-click the icon on your desktop to run it.
· It will ask if you want to update the program definitions, click Yes.
· Under Configuration and Preferences, click the Preferences button.
· Click the Scanning Control tab.
· Under Scanner Options make sure the following are checked:
o Close browsers before scanning
o Scan for tracking cookies
o Terminate memory threats before quarantining.
o Please leave the others unchecked.
o Click the Close button to leave the control center screen.
· On the main screen, under Scan for Harmful Software click Scan your computer.
· On the left check C:\Fixed Drive.
· On the right, under Complete Scan, choose Perform Complete Scan.
· Click Next to start the scan. Please be patient while it scans your computer.
· After the scan is complete a summary box will appear. Click OK.
· Make sure everything in the white box has a check next to it, then click Next.
· It will quarantine what it found and if it asks if you want to reboot, click Yes.
· To retrieve the removal information for me please do the following:
o After reboot, double-click the SUPERAntispyware icon on your desktop.
o Click Preferences. Click the Statistics/Logs tab.
o Under Scanner Logs, double-click SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log.
o It will open in your default text editor (such as Notepad/Wordpad).
o Please highlight everything in the notepad, then right-click and choose copy.
· Click close and close again to exit the program.
· Please paste that information here for me with a new HijackThis log.

This will take some time!!!!!!!!

Thanks mate for your help.

I've pasted what you've asked for below.

My little baby is usually secured like fort knox, the reason there is no antivirus there at the moment is that i just re-installed windows. I do agree with you about the hardware... the funny thing was i was in the middle of typing and it suddenly jammed up...like the z button was being held down...had to turn it off at the switch...and when i turned it back on it was as i explained in the last post. I read about this Kbug....sounded similar to what's happening on my pc.

Thanks again for all your help! You guys are like the cyber mother theresa's!:)

Without an active AV I can't help you, it only takes seconds to get infected!

The infection happend while i still had all by Av's and firewalls running.

I re-installed windows (& in the process of doing so cleared off my Avs) as means of trying to rectify the situation.

sorry about the mis-understanding.
