Recently on my main Win XP Pro machine, the keyboard repeat rate keeps dropping to the slowest setting. I have to open Control Panel - Keyboard and move the slider back over to the right.

Saw a couple of old posts about this, but no definitive answer.

I'm guessing that perhaps some program is doing this, but I sure can't figure out which one.

As with most of my computer problems, the MS Knowledge Base is silent on the issue.

    Anyone have any ideas?

I think you hit the problem on the head. But check your BIOS for Keyboard setting. If the problem continues you could use a utility like Keyboard King to reset it quickly, see: http://keyboardking.com/latest_version.html

A glancing blow would be more likely. Wish I could figure out *which* program is doing it (or why)!

In the meantime, thanks for the link.

Anthony, under your control panel, when you open your keyboard options..click on hardware...does it detect the right model and type of keyboard that are have?

Also, if yoiu recently upgraded to XP or W2K - did you also update your drivers?

Heh, thanks. Over the past year, I realized my computer has taken over as my main source of music, so I boosted it up a bit.

Got to update the sig, though, as I'm about to replace the aging Terminators with a JVC 12" XS1212 subwoofer...I'm building the cabinet for it this weekend....
