Keyboard Works Up Until Login

    then after that it does not work at all. I'm running the latest version of Vista, and have to use the on-screen keyboard after logging into my account.

    What is causing it to do that?:mad:

    i bet itsa USB keyboard ?
    try a PS2 keyboard. other than that, you can get a USB to PS2 adapter.

    is there any performance diff between a PS2 and USB k'board ?

    When did this start? Did it just start or all the time. USB or Ps2?

    no,, it's the actual built-in keyboard. It just started doing it a day ago. The laptop restarted after a fatal exception error at that time and now it's like the keys are locked.:confused:

    It would have helped to know that it was a lap top. :rolleyes: Any way do you have a key board you can plug in and try? Did you update,make changes,ect?

    Nope, no changes or updates. a drop of water then poof. but everything else works fine. What confuses me is it works to log me in...

    well the water could injure the keyboard. but if it works for logging in then that shows its not a physical problem. have you tried updating drivers?

    What you can do is either update the drivers which is in your device manager, go to keyboard, and right-click update drivers. OR you can do a restore point which you will lose any programs you have installed the last few days and any changes you have made to the system but your actual files won't be affected.

    mine is also the same except that instead of staying on until i log in it cuts off before that and i have to use the guest login T_T. Can someone help me out? And i'm on a desktop. where do you to get to the drivers?

    It said I alredy have the most current Driver they have and my laptop is telling me I have to previous points to restore 2???(n)
