Hi

I've been on a journey to try and do a low level search in safe mode on my PC but I can't get into safe mode and after trying lots of things, I just ran my zone alarm spyware at the lowest level and it came up with Keyrecorder 2.0.0 but aside from finding spyware rated as a top ten utility, I can't find out how to get rid of it or any info on how to make sure it never gets on again.

I did find some weird things in start up in MSCONFIG. One blank program that deselecting it didn't do any harm, and one that was a bunch of squares.

Here's a screen shot of that:

Thanks for any help.

Be well.

Does ZoneAlarm tell you where its finding Keyrecorder?
Run HijackThis and click Do a system scan only
Put a checkmark next to any of the following entries that appear, and click Fix Checked:

F3 - REG:win.ini: load=???
?

Exit HijackThis

Run Kaspersky Online Scanner and post the results here

Ok, you might want to empty out your "Junk Mail" in Outlook Express as there are some viruses in there.
Does ZoneALarm tell you exactly where its detecting Keyrecorder?

Hi, Junk box deleted,

No, zone alarm isn't saying where, right now it's in quarentine but I can't figure out where it is.

If I got a scanner that scanned on boot would that make up for not being able to get into safe mode?

If ZoneAlarm tells you that its quarantined you don't need to worry about it then, the keylogger isn't running.

Okay then, thanks for all your help. I'm glad to get that weird square and ? mark thing out.

I'll go ahead and click the link.
