lack of IPv6 Connectivity

    Long story short, I bought a cheap Trendnet N speed USB Adapter, TEW - 649UB.
    It has had lots of problems (including "freezing" where it stops working and slows down my computer to snailspace) but problem de jour looks like an apparent lack of IPv6 + IPv4 Connectivity. (Though I do not think this is the REAL problem.)

    Of course, I have ipconfig'd around, googled around with people saying "Ah you don't need it" but currently I can connect to the internet from a range of 10 seconds, to 5 minutes actively sending and receiving data, (With IPv4 connected) when suddenly it will decide that it does not want to send or receive anymore. It is still connected, just not doing anything.

    If I "Diagnose" the problem, I get "The default gateway is not available" and "This computer was manually disconnected"

    And then it starts working for a few seconds or minutes, and repeats the problem.

    As stated earlier, I tried ipconfig/renew,

    I have decided to disable Link Layer Topology Discovery Driver and Responders, Reliable Mulitcast Protocol, and Qos Packet Scheduler, and now the internet seams to be disconnecting less, but it is still happening. (Whilst doing that, and writing this, it has only stopped working once.)

    Has anyone got any advice on how to improve these problems?

    I *would* be wired, (being wired works) but I live in a large student flat with 9 occupants and I live on the top floor. The distance is a problem because sometimes it is difficult to sustain a connection, but it has never been like this.

    For a disconnected time ...

    Please attach a screen shot of the Networks page (don't collapse the Radar, Connection or Signal History) of the Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector. If you need help with that see TSG Posting a Screenshot. FWIW to take screen shots with Windows 7 or Vista I prefer to use the built-in Snipping Tool.

    Also show ...

    Open a (black) Command Prompt window:
    Hold the Windows logo key and press r; in the Run box type cmd and click on OK.

    Type the following command:


    [Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

    Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
    Paste the results in a message here.

    If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.
