please help me. my internet is the BEST IN CANADA.
i average around 50ms of ping.
the games i have lag issues in are:

Counter-strike: global offensive.
Half-life 2 (and its episodes)
TF2
basically any 3D game.

please help. what do i do?
ive tried resetting my computer from scratch, i make sure no programs are open while i play, and i just dont know what to do.

The spikes occur every 5 minutes or so, and last from anywhere between 2 seconds to 15 seconds.
they happen randomly, not at specific situations.
it is DIRECTLY INTERFERING with my games. PLEASE HELP!!! THANK YOU!

Probably video. It looks like he has 8GB RAM but 4GB shared memory for video.

Ok that's what I figured. Seems youre also using the integrated gpu as well. If its graphics lag, you need a more powerful laptop with a dedicated gpu, or if using a desktop you need to install a dedicated graphics card.

GTX 950M appears to be the dedicated card. You could try adding more RAM to the laptop since it appears to only have 8GB right now. I always tell people unless you REALLY REALLY need a laptop as a gaming computer, go with a desktop. They're way cheaper in comparison and when a part gets outdated its a simple procedure to replace it with a newer one.

Its not MSI's fault, its likely just not powerful enough for what you are wanting to do.

When you are looking for a gaming system its a matter of what games you want to play, at which resolutions, at what graphics settings, and how many FPS you want to achieve.

I would see about upgrading the internal RAM and seeing if that helps cause you are definitely running the BARE minimum RAM for ANY kind of gaming system.

But In my professional opinion, I would opt for a gaming DESKTOP, not a laptop.

Hope this helps.

Post a pic of the task mgr when in game. Because windows alone is going to use about 3gb in a 64 bit platform.

So you should be seeing atleast half being used.
